Societies and their Publications

  1. The Scandianavian Collectors Club. Executive Secretary: Robert Lang, POB 125, Newark, DE 19715. Membership $15 US, $21 Outside North America. You can join at the website.

    The site contains (as of 1/97) the table of contents of the Posthorn, e-mail addresses of SCC members, membership info, some links to well-known philatelic sites, and a list of publications for sale.

    The Posthorn is the quarterly publication. There is also an excellent lending library.

  2. Scandinavian Philatelic Library of Southern California, Inc. POB 310, Claremont, Ca 91711. Annual membership is $10.
    Their Stamp Mart sales circuits are an excellent source of the normal and the unusual in Swedish philately.

    Luren is the monthly publication. 8.5x11 & typically 10-14 pages. Periodic specialized Mail Sales. Editor & President Paul Nelson is at the link.

  3. The Scandinavian Philatelic Foundation. "Our primary aim is to make available important literature references in the English language [thereby] bringing Scandinavian philately to the widest possible collecting audience." They have 19 books in print of which 4 relate to Sweden (see Bibliography and offer discounts to members. Dues are $10 per year. Contact George Koplowitz, Sec-Treasurer, POB 6716, Thousand Oaks, Ca 91359.

  4. The Scandinavian Philatelic Society is based in England.

    Contact, their publication is cited often elsewere in this bibliography. Their page gives membership information, table of contents for recent issues of Contact, and links to other web sites of interest to Swedish collectors.

  5. American Philatelic Society. Not much on Sweden in their publication but a good, altho unadventurous, sales circuit which regularly brings interesting items for my collection.
