Bakong
Bakong has the most lovely approach of any Angkor temple.
A causeway on axis with the temple crosses the moat, giving way
to a path flanked by many blooming shrubs and trees. There is an
active monestary or sanga house, made of wood, along
the path near the entrance to the temple proper. Numerous monks
in saffron robes tend the grounds.
The sanga house
The real seat of Buddhism.
Bakong is the oldest of the "temple-mountain" temples.
