We were a diverse but generally very compatible lot. There were 16 of us,
ranging in age from 13 to sixty-something. Among us
were Italians, Israelis, Germans, Japanese, Romanians, Peruvians and Americans.
Conversation was in English and Spanish. The crew was Ecuadoran.
