Instead of zFeeder i found the MT plug-in mt-rssfeed attima mt plug-ins.. Now I want to be able to format it nicer in the sidebar. Is there a way to scroll it? Can it display an excerpt? Onward.

At least I got outside today and dug up and replanted the tulips that I had planted in tubs with NO drainage!! Mike drilled holes in the bottoms of the 1/2 wine barrels. It will be interesting to see if they do okay.

Okay, I changed my mind. I'm going to try a feeder before a bayesian filter. zShaped and zFeeder I couldn't find much on what folk using MT used for RSS. I have a dilemna ... should I knit or blog?

more solutions

Catching up with improvements, Seng's Bayesian filter will be my next MT feature. The question is... will I have the time to train it.

spam solutions

James Seng's blog: Solution for comments spams
One solution to MT spam problem. I had let my blog for a few months and was horrified when I returned and found it filled with spam. Now I'm just dissapointed. At least this gives me a project. Other solutions if you don't have GD.pm at www.blogspam.org/solutions.html .

National Weather Service Eureka - Satellite Page

It dumped before dawn today. and the creek is huge. Not as huge as I've seen it before but I it's high enough I can see it rushing by sitting here at the computer. Before dawn I sat here and listened to the wind and wondered if one of the big trees would come crashing down on me. A few years ago my neighbor was pinned in her bed by a tree top that came down through her roof. If it had not hung up on the window sills she would have been crushed. She's since left, could not take our spooky winters. I don't blame her. A tree fell on our house the year before hers came down. Luckily, it was caught in the fork created by two smaller redwoods that butt up against the house and merely clipped the eaves and tore out the powerline. So far we have'nt lost power this winter, at least not more than 3 hours.

New Years 2004

Happy New Year. Mike and I are just sitting around listening ot the rain and enjoying the peace. I've started knitting. My daughter Madeline asked me to teach her and i got into it. REALLY into it, like usual. I've been trying to get some yarn here at our little fabric store but they have nothing. they ordered some Brown Sheep fro me but it's been on backorder. So, I spent the day cruising the net looking at yarn and shopping. I'm gonna knit me some socks!

everything you thought was right is wrong today

So perhaps I'll start posting again. I was so in love with this idea initially, but once I mastered (okay, just figured out) the technical aspects of the blog I lost interest. Seems a few people have been interested in the gallery though.

intenet service

At work our IP connection was broken. Our sys admin said it was them. They said it was us. After a day of the upstream folk denying they had changed anything that would change our connection, at 4:30 they copped to it. This happens about 4 times a year and always ends up to be their fault. SUX

My Gallery
is ready for prime time. I also now know how to post using bookmarklets. I'm still afraid to use backtracks to others blogs yet. Actually, waiting to read something to write back about.

I took my deranged terrier to Shelter Cove today, to give him some excercise and maybe mellow him out a bit. He was pretty good. He didn't attack the pit bull he saw. There was one bad moment when he mistook a teacup poodle for a rat and tried to eat it. We hit both beaches, Black Sands and the Cove. Beautiful day. It was actually warmer there on the coast than at my house inland.

MFLP updates

I've been neglecting my blog. Poor blog. It's time for a change of season on the mflp site so I'm absorbed with that. Hilary left for Yosemite today. She's camping at Sunnyside (Camp 4) until the Meadow opens where she goes to work. She's in climber's heaven.

Tang Soo Do

Madeline place first in sparing at her first Tang Soo Do Tournament. She was awesome! I've never watched her spar before. From the first kick I knew she would prevail for I recognized her skills and form were acquired from many years of trouncing her sister! My gallery is growing.

gallery install

Last night I commenced to install Gallery on the server. Of course it needed a series of packages, each one dependent on an additional one that I did not seem to have and so down the rabbit hole I went. When trying to install ImageMagick, I kept getting the error: Undefined symbol "__stderrp", a FreeBSD bug, I guess? I learned I needed to rebuild the kernel with compat3x but I don't really have the privileges to do that. But, despite never succesfully installing the "required" ImageMagick, Gallery works! Soon I'll have a link to my photos.

I spent the day engrossed in a Flash project for work. A new front page for summer. It was 80 and beautiful here today. Soon the hills will be brown, but for now everything is green and lively. This evening I'm tweaking Gallery on the server. I installed it the other night but haven't finished configuring it yet.

birthday cake

Mike's birthday is next Tuesday. I started cooking today. Actually, we will be at Maddy's Tang Soo Do tournament in Tahoe over the weekend. (Kimmy's taking care of the house) so I had to start now. A Carrot Cake AND A Frozen Mocha Cake.
Mike's clean date and belly-button birthday are only a few days apart so we get 2 cakes.

After 3 weeks of rain, yesterday I felt bad complaining about the wind, since it was, after all , not raining finally. Today, is warm and sunny. I so want the summer to start.

I love being able to say "I'm seeing Slobberbone in the city soon!" Isn't that a great name for a band?

I can't get over how revealing the owners of Blogs are. Not that I've read much in the way of juicy personal drama. The relative anonymity must persuade them that just about anything in their life should be interesting to others. Even the most miniscule event... "Today I went shopping, I bought blue laundry detergent for a change." But, it becomes interesting, just because it reveals how mundane ALL our lives are. Even the most brillant Blog pundit seems to have a regular life. That comforts me.

My daughter is driving home from Colorado to California in her new used car. A politcally incorrect SUV, a Toyota 4-Runner. I have one myself. Her first solo road trip. When she gets here she has to register her car and it will have to pass California smog emissions test, which could be a problem. The big THEY wouldn't let her register it in Colorado because she has no address there now that her dorms are closed for the summer. So she could be stuck with an undrivable car, which might be a good thing being gas prices are so high.

funky? yeah!

I just got an email from my server admin. Seems the Globals were not set so the PHP was not passing the cookie right. That's why the skins started to work for me outta the blue this afternoon, when he changed the server settings. Now I'm rolling.

Posted by Megan at 06:35 PM

I can't believe it, the skins work. After tweaking and tweaking for 5 days!! I'm not sure what was wrong but i do believe the php on my server was acting funky. There were some major inconsistentcies (why is there not a spell checker with MT?!) Whatta ride. Now I can have some fun

Doing this brain work keeps me totally disconnected from everything else going on in my life, a sweet tweak, leaving me drained of any ability to worry about anything else, anybody else, or even my self. Works for me. skins

i see dead cats

So I'm lying on my back in my excercise class, doing abs, and I notice the white press board ceiling above me has a 2 foot diameter greasy looking stain emananting from a rorsarch like brown imprint in it's center. Mildly interesting. Then, I realize it has a little tail shape and a little head shape. I think rat? No, too big. Dead kitty in the ceiling crawl space.

2 little birds

i doubt many if any will see this blog, but i'll feel more like posting if it looks half-way decent. Not the most beautiful page, but better than it was. A title of a Slobberbone song i can relate to, the next sentence in the verse is "...move along, 'cause you can't stay, no way!"

The older I get the more I wish to stay young... and STAY. No way. Okay. What an anti-zen.

If I had no ego I'd be so foolish, act so foolish. Also, I don't want to embarrass or worse yet, confuse my kids. Too late.
