About GOD I trust that this site will be a resource for studies that confirm God's reality and the validity of the Bible; and help in explaining some of the gnatty little questions concerning God, the Bible and Christianity. Straight Talk about God is a non-threatening, friendly place to confirm God and build the confidence to act in trust of His word. Straight Talk is not affiliated with any denomination and generally shuns traditional Christian practices and doctrine. Straight Talk is founded on the teachings of Paul, along with those of Dr. Gene Scott. And MUCH independent study. Straight Talk about God is fulfilling Ephesians 4:12, which says that “the work of the ministry” is “the edifying of the body of Christ.” In other words, as C S Lewis says, we’re supposed to “show off God to each other.” That’s what this web site aims to do. Jesus told us that no one can come to God unless the Father “draws” him. If you’re reading this, then you were “drawn” here and will most likely find the answer to a question that you have about God.
Faith is a verb.
Here’s what I believe: Through the evidence of God’s hand on the stage of history, His irrefutable creations and His working in my personal life, I gain the strength I need to overcome daily adversity, know His Word is forever settled in heaven, and that He will stand by me.

I thought it might be convenient to have a central place where additions to Straight Talk could be easily accessed. These pages are also in their respective categories, but this way you won't miss a new page because it’s “buried” in a different place on the site. There’s a lot of stuff on this site. I hope this “staging area” has been helpful. Thanks for trying it out. I'll rotate in any new pages as they fall out. And I guess the new links will stay for a few months, at least. The God Steak: A Tale of Seventeen You know how sometimes you get a hankering for some kind of food? I had one of those for a steak. Nice big T-bone is what came to mind. Getting this steak was fairly spur of the moment. A couple times in past days the thought had crossed my mind, but nothing ever came of it. One night after I’d already come home I looked at the current sale paper from the local market. T-bones weren’t advertised, but they had a sirloin for only $5.88 a pound. That sounded OK. My wallet didn't object, so I hopped in the car and went to the market. Out of four numbers on the market receipt, I counted 14 features of 17. A Long Shot 17 I want to address a small but recurring issue. There’s nothing easier to criticize than a personal experience because the hearers have no evidence but their feelings to help deny the significance of the occurrence, they will quickly find themselves in trying to discredit the person. Even if kindly said, they will try to find some personal reason why such a thing could occur. “Naw….you were just….drunk!” COMMENTARY ON THE ANTI-CHRIST We are on the brink of the New World Order. This government will exceed the individual sovereignty of all nations; just as the European Union can dictate to the once sovereign nations of Europe. I’d like to offer some insight into who may become the Anti-Christ. Deeper study into who may become the Anti-Christ will have to include the “chosen” people AND their God-given mission on the earth. Another important question: What will be the configuration of the armies at Armageddon? It's in the book! YOU AREN’T REALLY YOU God is a spirit. The devil is a spirit. The Angels are spirits. And You are a spirit. If You are a spirit, what is your body? Your Self, your Spirit, You, manipulate energy to form a tool that allows You to experience the physical reality. That tool is your physical body. Your physical body is not You. This idea is nothing new. It’s been taught since there were people. The point is not that your body, your brain, your mind is not You. The point is why we have bodies at all. Extending outward, the point is, why is there a physical reality? A NEW FEATURE AT THE ARCHIVE: TRANSCRIPTIONS. These were broadcast as long ago as 1997. Interesting how the stuff we talked about is now in place. Fifty Pieces Audio and PDF Also now available is an audio version of Fifty Pieces, A Personal Walk of Faith. This version is held on one CD and is formatted in MP3. The individual pieces are separated into their own tracks. If your MP3 player lacks Fast Forward and Reverse, you won't have to start at the beginning of the book each time. There are 56 tracks altogether. I have also transferred Fifty Pieces into PDF format. This is convenient for searching the text and for printing individual pieces. NEW ADDITIONS TO THE STRAIGHT TALK ARCHIVE: I've added a new section to the Archive. It's called Recent. It will contain the last ten to twenty programs. These programs will eventually rotate into the appropriate categories, but I will always leave the ten most recent programs in the section. The last few were: The Believer's Walk 2012 We’re going to look at some old truths today. I wanted to start the year off by reviewing the basics of the life of a Believer. Maybe give us a fresh look at our own lives with God and what to do about the parts that don’t measure up. The transcription is here. Voiding Traditions I want to try and bust through some traditional thinking today. Jesus said, “You make void the word of God with your traditions.” The Church has been turned down the wrong path and Christians are working in the wrong places. But they are being taught that their efforts are the way Home. So just to be provocative, I’ve titled the three parts of this discussion, Christianity, the Great Pretense, Jesus Doesn’t Save and Jesus Didn’t Die For Me. You can readwhile you listen. The False Flag, Everyone's Mission, Communion First today we’ll look at Satan’s fear factory, Terrorism and the False Flag operation. Then it’s on to our Walk with God. Addiction And The Cross You know, when I look at the spectrum labeled “Addiction”, I see all the usual suspects over there on the right. There’s heroin and crack cocaine, even serial rape and murder. But what’s that down there to the far left? Cigarettes? No, farther. Oh, yeah, diet soda. How many people don’t think of being addicted to diet soda? Anything on the Addiction spectrum is to be treated as though it was the thing at the farthest right end of the line. The Principle doesn’t change because of the degree. You can read while you listen. Psalm 23, Tough Shoes, Communion We’re going to take another look at the 23rd Psalm. Do a little of what I call Trans-substitution to fill out the details. It’s much richer than we read in English. Being a Believer is a tough Walk, but I want to focus on how to deal with the toughness. We’ll also be taking communion. The transcription is here if you'd like to read along. Tithe Talk To Tithe or not to Tithe? We’re going to return to one of the most controversial issues of Christianity. Giving. One sure way to tell if a truth of God is connected to something is that there will be a lot of cross talk about it. While there are other parts of the Christian walk that are debated, I can’t think of any other issues that are argued more than giving. This practice has become so corrupt that hardly anyone understands it. The devil’s been hard at work in this area. You can listen while you read. |
